Opportunity Day is a program established to provide additional support for students who are habitually truant from school, irregular attendance, insubordinate, disorderly while in attendance, or failing academically. Opportunity provides a supportive environment with specialized curriculum, instruction, guidance and counseling, and tutorial assistance to help students overcome barriers to learning. It is designed for grades 7 through 9 and is to be a short-term intervention to ensure that students will succeed when they return to their home school.
