DRESS CODE POLICY

Students will NOT wear or display any of the following:

  1. “Ben Davis,” “Frisco County,” “Solo,” “Johnny Blaze,” “Harley Davidson,” “South Pole”or “Sur,” brand apparel
  2. Belt buckles with ANY initials, logo, or ANY miscellaneous design, including Harley-Davidson (plain only)
  3. Long end of belt below belt loops
  4. Any head covering unless approved by school administration (including hoods of jackets and helmets)
  5. Baggy pants - pants are to be worn at the waist level
  6. Gloves
  7. Safety pins, spikes, padlocks, any metal studded clothes or apparel
  8. Clothing or apparel with any monkey, Orange County, OC, “Rest in Peace” (R.I.P.) “Players 69,” “Pimp,” “Shorty,” Old English writing (including skateboard style), any “Star,”  or any reference to sex, drugs, alcohol, or tobacco, offensive or obscene symbols, sign or slogans
  9. Any college or professional team sports apparel
  10. Clothes or apparel with ANY NUMBER, including those spelled out (e.g., “Zero”)
  11. Combination of shorts with a length below the knee and socks up the bottom of the shorts
  12. Bandanas of any size or color, including worn in hair or material of clothing
  13. Gang- or drug-affiliated symbols, drawings, tattoos, or items on your person, clothing or in your possession, including, but not limited to the following:
  14. Pet-type choker chains on body, attached to wallet or keys, or attached to any belt loops; lanyards hanging from pocket
  15. All button-type shirts must be buttoned.
  16. Any top shirts without sleeves (males)
  17. Steel-toed boots
  18. Slippers, pajamas
  19. Shirts longer than fingertip.
  20. Any blouse or shirt:
    1. Showing bra straps
    2. Which is suggestively low or tight
    3. Which exposes the midriff at all – even ¼”
    4. Shear, with an undergarment that violates any part of the modesty code
  21. Tube tops, backless tops, or tops with spaghetti straps or straps that allow bra straps to show
  22. Shorts or skirts that expose buttocks or that are excessively short
  23. Additional items as determined by Administration, local police dept. officials, and gang investigators.

POLARIS HIGH SCHOOL DISCIPLINE CODE SUMMARY – 2005-2006

    Major infractions that will result in suspension, transfer or expulsion are:
    1. Fighting
    2. Sexual Harassment, other harassment, or intimidation/threats
    3. Possession, use or being under the influence of drugs or alcohol; possession of drug paraphernalia
    4. Possession of a weapon or other dangerous object, including pocket knives and laser pointers
    5. Gang-related activity or graffiti
    • Major infractions that may result in confiscation or suspension are:
      • Use on campus (including turned on) of a cell phone*, walkman*, radio*, CD player*, (“silent” is not acceptable)
      • Use or possession of tobacco, or tobacco-related items (such as lighters) on campus
      • Profanity or vulgarity
      • Backpacks on campus
      • Noncompliance with internet/computer rules
      • Possession of permanent markers, white out, or other permanent-type markers
      • Blatant disregard of the school and district rules
